Background
The primary challenge Unikrn faced was to create a comprehensive platform with integrated cryptocurrency transactions that would appeal to esports enthusiasts worldwide while complying with complex regulatory frameworks.
The collaboration between Unikrn and Crionis resulted in the successful development and launch of a groundbreaking all-in-one platform that combined cryptocurrency, esports betting, and gaming for global gamers.
Research & Discovery
• User Interviews: We conducted interviews with 12 users across three regions (NA, EU, SEA) to understand their pain points and expectations.
• Competitive Analysis: Reviewed crypto-friendly betting platforms (e.g., Stake, Thunderpick) and Web3 wallets (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect).
• Data Insights: Identified that over 60% of users were mobile-first and preferred quick betting mechanics like live in-game props.
UX Strategy
We focused on three core pillars:
• Simplicity: Flattening the wallet setup flow and betting process.
• Trust: Communicating odds, outcomes, and blockchain security transparently.
• Speed: Enabling rapid bet placements with minimal steps.

• Bet History & Verification: Blockchain-based bet receipts viewable directly in-app.
• Dark Mode Aesthetics: Esports-inspired, modern design system with real-time game data and animated highlights.
Prototyping & Testing
• Built interactive Figma prototypes for key flows.

To address Unikrn’s outdated user experience and fragmented crypto integration, we delivered a comprehensive redesign of the platform’s core betting and payment flows. Our solution centered on creating a crypto-native, esports-first experience that emphasized clarity, speed, and trust. Here's how we approached it:
Crypto Wallet Integration (Simplified & Secure)
• Implemented seamless connections with MetaMask, WalletConnect, and Unikrn Wallet, allowing users to onboard with their preferred crypto wallet.
• Introduced progressive onboarding, enabling users to browse and explore without being forced to connect a wallet immediately.
Streamlined Betting Flow
• Introduced one-tap betting for live matches, eliminating unnecessary confirmation steps.
• Optimized for mobile-first interactions with sticky odds sliders, swipe-to-confirm gestures, and real-time odds updates.
• Added smart defaults (e.g., most popular bets, predicted outcomes) for faster decision-making.
Real-Time Game & Bet Visuals
• Integrated live match data and animations (kills, objectives, game state) directly into the bet slip.
• Visualized bet outcomes with match timelines and blockchain-based receipts, giving users confidence in results.
• Created dynamic odds cards that react to in-game events like kills or rounds won.

• Built around game-specific modules that adapt UI for titles like CS2, Valorant, and League of Legends.
• Used a dark UI theme inspired by gaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, Discord), improving readability in low-light environments.
